The Massachusetts State Convention of Young People In Alcoholics Anonymous (MSYCPAA) has its roots in 1984 when a group of young people from the Boston area were presenting a bid for the the International Conference of Young People In AA (ICYPAA).  Initiative and responsibility were taken, and the first MSCYPAA was held in 1985 in Westboro, MA.

There were a total of fourteen conventions from the first in 1985 to 2000 when the 14th MSCYPAA was held in Andover, MA. At that time, the convention struggled for lack of viable bid committees. A 2001 Host committee comprised of members of several different cities floundered and folded in 2001 and MSCYPAA itself folded until 2010.

After holding a very successful NECYPAA (New England Convention of Young People in AA) over the 2009 - 2010 New Years weekend, a group of members from both Eastern and Western Massachusetts (Areas 30 & 31) began a committee to bring back MSCYPAA.
The Fifteenth MSCYPAA was held a the Hyatt Regency Cambridge, and the Sixteenth MSCYPAA was held at the Boston Marriott, Newton.

MSCYPAA 17 Host Committee of the Essex/Middlesex area meets the first Sunday of every month at 2:00 PM at 1 Church Street, Wakefield, MA. Visit the current host committee for all of the incredible events and happenings leading up to this year's convention, www.mscypaahost.com
